Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for its AV team to define how autonomous sensing systems are architected and integrated across autonomy programs. You will perform system-level trade studies and develop performance specs for camera, radar, lidar, and more, collaborating with AI/ML, platform software and vehicle integration teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Software, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience supporting system architecture, integration, and cross-domain initiatives.
• Experience working with sensing systems (camera, radar, lidar) and integration.
• 5+ years in a sensor-intensive field, systems engineering or autonomy.
• Experience in requirements development, interface definition, integration and validation.
• Technical depth in signal processing, link analysis, or ML for sensing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system-level trade studies for multi-modality sensor designs.
• Develop detailed performance specifications for sensors and associated processing.
• Assess performance against product needs to quantify risk and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with simulation, vehicle integration, perception and validation teams.
• Document technical decisions, trade-offs and project deliverables.
