Job summary

Jerry's Chevrolet GMC of Vermillion is seeking an experienced Level A Service Technician who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. You will diagnose complex issues, stay current with vehicle technology, and work with a team that respects your knowledge.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems, verifying repairs with tests, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• ASE Certifications are preferred but not required.
• GM experience is a plus, but we’ll consider experienced technicians from other manufacturers.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties required in a service shop.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical concerns on a wide variety of vehicles.
• Perform advanced engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brake and electrical repairs.
• Complete factory maintenance and warranty work according to manufacturer standards.
• Use diagnostic equipment and service information to accurately identify vehicle concerns.
• Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation.
• Clearly document repair findings and recommendations.
• Mentor and assist less experienced technicians when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
