Job summary

Cooper’s Auto Repair is a premier facility serving the Tacoma area since 2009. The Senior Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles in line with MAP guidelines, dealership and manufacturer standards.

Qualifications

• ASE certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willingness to work five days per week, including Saturdays.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles per MAP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to appropriate certifications/experience.
• Repair as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection/Repair Order with accuracy.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to managers, service consultants and customers.
• Recommend services to keep vehicles in running condition and document them in the file.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to leadership.
• Maintain ASE certifications and renewals.

The Senior Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers, and Coopers Automotive standards.

Compensation: $35-$55/hr VARIES UPON EXPERIENCE

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

Qualifications:

• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training
• Possess valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years of age
