Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an Automotive Systems Engineer to design L2/L3 automotive-grade systems for our AV2.0 approach. You will define requirements, collaborate with product, software and hardware teams, and help embed our autonomy solution in future OEM vehicle infrastructures.

You will lead data-driven development, validate scenarios, support implementation, and coach teams toward automotive-grade software.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in system engineering or automotive development.
Experience defining and managing requirements for complex systems (ADAS/ automated driving).
Proficiency in requirements management tools (Jama/DOORS) and system engineering tools (MATLAB/Simulink, Enterprise Architect).
Familiarity with automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Define clear, actionable system requirements for L2+/L3 or ADAS functionalities.
Collaborate with product managers, software developers, and hardware teams to align requirements with customer needs.
Ensure traceability and alignment of requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Create data-driven development scenarios and ensure data-guided testing.
Validate scenario definitions with multiple teams and align to business needs.
Work with software teams to define data collection needs, KPIs and behavior specs.
Develop system architecture with solutions and architecture teams; oversee integration into vehicles.
Actively test and validate systems in vehicles and analyze performance.
Diagnose and resolve system issues and escalate when needed.
Contribute to continuous improvement of Wayve’s L2+/L3 and ADAS technologies.
