Job summary

LaFontaine Buick GMC of Ann Arbor is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance to dealer and factory standards. You will specialize in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, HVAC, engine tune-up, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities include reviewing repair orders, diagnosing malfunctions, coordinating with Parts, documenting work, testing and road testing, and maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Michigan Mechanic Certification is required.
• Certifications in Engine Repair, Steering Suspension, Brakes, HVAC, Engine Tune-Up, Electrical Systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review repair orders and perform assigned work efficiently and accurately.
• Diagnose causes of vehicle malfunctions and complete authorized repairs.
• Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain necessary components.
• Tag, save, and turn in parts for warranty or customer requests.
• Inform service advisors of additional work needed or delays in repair completion.
• Document all work performed and conduct road tests to confirm repair quality.
