Job summary

Toyoda Gosei Americas in Troy, MI, is seeking a Senior Product Engineer in the Interior/Exterior Plastics Engineering group to drive product development from concept through SOP for TGNA and AMCs.

You will create APQP and engineering documents, develop plastic components (grille, bumper, spoiler, IPs, console), perform CAD/CAE analyses, and support design reviews with customers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and profitability.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of engineering experience.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Interior/Exterior Plastic component design with injection molding, tooling, painting/plating, and wrapping.

Responsibilities

• Create APQP and engineering documents and support design from concept through SOP.
• Attend customer build events and address root causes in collaboration with teams.
• Provide design proposals for interior/exterior plastic parts (grille/bumper/spoiler/IPs/console/register) using 2D & 3D design tools.
• Perform benchmarking of competitor components and emerging technology.
• Develop drawings and participate in DFMEA/DRBFM as required.
• Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
