Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a hands-on Hardware Design Engineer with strong automotive electronics experience in the Detroit area. You will lead hardware development from requirements through schematic design, PCB development, validation, and production launch, collaborating with Systems, Software, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of automotive embedded hardware development experience.
• Strong experience with schematic design and electronic hardware development.
• Experience supporting PCB layout and hardware design activities.
• Experience with CAN and LIN communication integration.
• Experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 development programs.
• Experience with requirements management and requirements traceability.
• Strong communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive embedded hardware solutions.
• Create and review schematics, component selection, circuit design, and PCB development activities.
• Support hardware architecture development and design reviews.
• Contribute to prototype development and product maturation activities.
• Support verification and validation activities throughout product development.
• Ensure hardware solutions meet quality, performance, reliability and timing objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in customer-facing technical discussions.
