Job summary

HHM CPAs is seeking a Dealership Specialist with extensive automotive dealership accounting experience. The role requires handling all aspects of dealership accounting, including acting as Controller when needed, and leading a small team of staff accountants and administrative staff.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in the automotive industry, preferably within a large dealership group, and may have public accounting exposure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the automotive industry, dealership environment.
• Experience sitting in the Controller role and managing an accounting office.
• Preferred experience in a large dealership group; public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consult dealership management and executive leadership.
• Train current Controller, staff accountants, and admin staff.
• Act as Controller as needed.
• Analyze and fix DMS issues.
• Analyze parts department, inventory, sales, etc.
• Perform gross reconciliations.
• Train on cleaning schedules.
• Prepare books for year-end tax returns.
• Create and implement accounting processes, procedures, and best practices.
