Job summary

HHM CPAs is seeking a seasoned Dealership Specialist with 5+ years in automotive dealership accounting, including exposure to Controller duties. The role demands leadership of an accounting office and strong process improvement.

Travel up to 50% is required. The firm is a 300+ person firm with multiple locations and a commitment to quality tax, accounting, and consulting services; a dynamic work environment awaits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in dealership accounting and automotive finance.
• Experience serving as Controller or leading an accounting office.
• Prefer large dealership group background.
• Public accounting is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Consult dealership management and executive leadership.
• Train current Controller, staff accountants, admin staff.
• Act as Controller as needed.
• Analyze and fix DMS issues.
• Analyze parts department, inventory, sales, etc.
• Gross reconciliations.
• Training on cleaning schedules.
• Preparing books for year end tax returns.
• Creating and implementing accounting process, procedures, and best practices.

Dealership Specialist

HHM CPAs is searching for a very specific type of accounting professional. We are looking for someone that has 5+ years in the automotive industry, working inside a dealership and handling all aspects of the dealership accounting duties. Ideally, someone who has sat in the Controller seat and managed an accounting office would be the right fit for this position.

Preferred experience in a large dealership group is desired. Having experience in public accounting is a PLUS, but not required.

This position will travel 50% of the time.

Responsibilities:

• Consultation with dealership management and executive leadership
• Training of current Controller, staff accountants, admin staff
• Acting as Controller as needed
• Analyzing and fixing DMS issues
• Analyzing various aspects of parts department, inventory, sales, etc
• Gross reconciliations
• Training on cleaning schedules
• Preparing books for year end tax returns
• Creating and implementing accounting process, procedures, and best practices
