Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is hiring for an Automation Technician III role in Kansas City, MO. The position focuses on setup, troubleshooting, and programming of automated welding cells, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring safety and quality in a high-volume shop environment.

Candidates should have PLC/HMI experience, robot programming ability, and a strong maintenance background. This is a first shift at our Kansas City plant with opportunities to advance within an ESOP-owned company.

Qualifications

• Autom automation technician II/III with PLC and HMI skills.
• Strong Electrical/Mechanical knowledge and safety compliance.
• Mechatronics qualification and maintenance background required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Tech I & II and Weld Technicians.
• Troubleshoot and service automated welding cells.
• Program robots offline and adjust tooling.
• Ensure safety procedures and preventative maintenance.
