Job summary

Harris Hill Automation in Maine is seeking a Senior Automation Technician to fabricate and assemble mechanical automation systems and to develop solutions for complex automation challenges.

The role includes field visits for troubleshooting, installation, and repair, along with documenting updates to drawings and maintaining records of project details. Strong CAD and machining experience are required for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building or maintaining custom industrial automation equipment.
• Pneumatic and electrical system installation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with sensors, actuators, VFDs, safety circuits, and industrial I/O.
• Basic machining, drilling, tapping, saw, mill, or lathe experience.
• Ability to use CAD drawings and make redline/as-built updates / Experience with machine installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and assembly of mechanical automation assemblies.
• Advanced problem-solving and solution development.
• Modification, assembly, and wiring of control panels.
• Documentation of updates to mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Customer site visits for troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation, and repair.
• Keep accurate records of project information, time, and tasks details.
• Adhering to internal and customer safety policies.
• Other duties as may arise.
