Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Principal Automation Systems Engineer to lead SCADA (Ignition) and PLC (Rockwell) development for new buildouts, sustaining operations, and live data-center infrastructure.

You will own architecture, set standards, and provide technical direction across teams, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with partners to ensure reliability, security, and scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Ignition SCADA or Rockwell PLC knowledge required.
• 10+ years in industrial automation or mission-critical infra preferred.
• Ability to design scalable automation architectures and reusable logic.
• Experience in IT/OT integration and cybersecurity basics.
• Willingness to travel ~25% for project needs.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio-level automation architecture and patterns.
• Govern standards, SOPs, and reusable engineering practices.
• Provide principal direction for SCADA, PLC, graphics, and alarms.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with partners and teams.
• Review design decisions and deployment approaches for production.
