Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Senior Automation Systems Engineer to lead SCADA (Ignition) and PLC (Rockwell) software development for data center infrastructure across multiple locations. The role combines design, development, and support for both new construction and sustaining operations.

You will review drawings and sequences, drive architecture standards, and mentor teams while ensuring reliability, data integrity, and scalable automation. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in industrial SCADA or PLC based controls system development required, with seven to nine years preferred.
• Data center experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to analyze P&IDs, control narratives, and instrumentation diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain graphics, UDT, and PLC code repositories with version control and controlled releases.
• Coordinate with project teams and contractors to align with company goals and standards.
• Design and evolve automation architectures, data models, and reusable logic for new construction and operations.
• Provide remote and on-site development support during commissioning, validation, and testing.
• Lead technical ownership and cross-team influence for automation solutions.
