Job summary

Vantage Data Centers seeks a Principal Automation Systems Engineer to lead architecture for Ignition SCADA and Rockwell PLCs across a national NA footprint. The role combines hands-on development with portfolio-level technical ownership, standards governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will mentor engineers, guide critical design decisions, and ensure scalable, reliable automation for new builds and live operations while leveraging a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of Ignition SCADA or Rockwell PLCs is required.
• Ten or more years in industrial SCADA or PLC-based controls development.
• Strong understanding of control loops, alarming, telemetry, data integrity, and mission-critical behavior.

Responsibilities

• Define and guide automation architecture and reusable frameworks.
• Lead governance of automation standards, SOPs, and documentation.
• Provide principal technical direction across SCADA, PLC, graphics, and telemetry.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with partners to ensure quality and reliability.
