Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Principal Automation Systems Engineer in Sterling, VA to lead SCADA (Ignition) and PLC (Rockwell) development for new builds and operations. You will chart portfolio automation architecture, set standards, and drive scalable solutions across multiple sites.

Expect to guide cross-functional teams, review designs, and mentor engineers while maintaining rigorous change control and cybersecurity practices in live, mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in industrial SCADA or PLC-based controls.
• Expert knowledge of Ignition SCADA and Rockwell PLCs.
• Experience delivering scalable automation architectures for data centers.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio-level automation architecture and standards.
• Provide principal-level technical direction for SCADA, PLC, graphics, alarms, telemetry.
• Review and approve automation design decisions for production environments.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
