Job summary
Beam Therapeutics, based in Durham, NC, is seeking an Engineer II/Senior Engineer I for Automation and MES with GMP manufacturing experience. You will design, install, validate, and maintain PharmaSuite MES and other automation systems, supporting clinical and commercial cell therapy manufacturing.
The role emphasizes collaboration with IT, QA, and production, with on-call support and continuous improvement responsibilities.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years automation/MES experience for Engineer II; 8+ years with leadership for Senior Engineer I.
- Hands-on GMP MES design, config, validation; PharmaSuite preferred.
- Experience authoring electronic batch records and master recipes.
- Knowledge of GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11; data integrity focus.
Responsibilities
- Own MES config, master recipes, workflows; implement change control end-to-end.
- Develop and validate electronic batch records for clinical and commercial cell therapy.
- Translate paper records to electronic execution with MS&T, Quality.
- Interface MES with SAP, LIMS, CMMS, PI and patient logistics systems.
- Support site buildouts, inspections, and qualification activities.
