Job summary

Amazon Lab126 seeks a Senior Site Technical Manager to lead automation-focused manufacturing for multiple devices. You will own technical issue resolution, partner with suppliers, and drive cost, quality, and yield improvements on the factory floor.

You will design fixtures, develop SOPs, and collaborate with design and automation engineers to enable efficient pack-out and assembly while meeting on-time delivery goals. Strong PLC, QA, and DFx experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
  • Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in a QAE role.
  • Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing).
  • Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters).
  • Experience managing and delivering product quality or testing.
  • 1+ years of programmable logic controls (PLC) programs experience.
  • NFQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, or 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience.
  • Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities.
  • Experience using customer insights and data to deeply understand target customers and dive deep.
  • Demonstrated experience with cycle time waterfall and line balancing, SOP generation, personnel training;
  • Data management and analysis using Matlab, JMP, Minitab; Yield reporting with Pareto, Cp/Cpk, GR&R;
  • 10+ years’ experience in operations, working with and managing OEM/CM suppliers, throughout the product life cycle from Concept to EOL with minimum 5 years experience as STM.

Responsibilities

  • Own resolution of technical issues for multiple products in a fast-paced, automation-focused factory.
  • Work quickly and collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve automation, material, process, and procedure issues.
  • Drive continuous improvements to manufacturing and automation processes.
  • Identify and design required assembly & test fixtures for new and existing products.
  • Work with others on new product design-for-automation and create standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Identify and drive quality improvement and cost reduction goals.
