Job summary

Perrigo is seeking an Automation Engineer for the Bronx site to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance automation systems across manufacturing, packaging, facilities, and utilities. The role acts as site technical expert for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, BMS, serialization, and automated equipment, partnering with Operations, Quality, Validation, IT to improve reliability, data visibility, and compliance with FDA/cGMP.

Base salary range: $130,000–$150,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Controls, Mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 7-10 years in automation, controls, or manufacturing systems.
• Supervisory or team lead experience.
• Strong experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, networks, and automated systems.
• Experience leading troubleshooting and reliability improvements.
• Experience in FDA-regulated or cGMP environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and develop Automation team and allocate resources.
• Lead automation capital planning and execution support.
• Develop modernization roadmaps for obsolete PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
• Ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance across automation systems.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for downtime events.
• Support digital manufacturing initiatives (POMS, MES, data collection).
