Job summary
Jabil is seeking an Automation Engineer II in Clinton, MA to design, develop, implement and validate automated manufacturing equipment and production systems. You will work with project managers, manufacturing, quality, operations, and suppliers to deliver automation solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
You will lead equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), troubleshoot systems, and provide hands-on support for commissioning, start-up, and new product introductions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing/Automation Engineering or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in automation or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience with automated assembly systems and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of IQ, OQ, and PQ methodologies.
- Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and production systems.
- Review product requirements to develop automation solutions.
- Generate design drawings and installation instructions.
- Execute IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities.
- Troubleshoot automation systems and equipment.
- Support commissioning, startup, and qualification of new equipment.
- Collaborate with teams to improve process capability and equipment performance.
- Integrate vision systems, sensors, motion control, and PLC-based controls.
- Analyze production data to identify optimization opportunities.
- Manage multiple automation projects within safety, quality, and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to meet requirements.
