Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. The role focuses on reliability and performance of conveyors, sortation, and SCADA devices with safety as a priority.

The site engineering program will be led by you, mentoring Automation Engineers and Apprentices, while coordinating with operations to optimize material handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/Automation or 3+ years related experience.
• 5+ years PLC automation experience incl. Ladder Logic and structured programming.
• 2+ years with robotics work cells, control systems, and SCADA.
• Leadership experience mentoring automation engineers.
• Proficiency with CMMS and maintenance coordination.
• Strong communication and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems and software.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automation equipment, including PLC/PC controllers and networks.
• Govern automation documentation and change management processes.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and support teams to optimize material handling systems.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support, including remote assistance.
• Drive continuous improvement and communicate timelines and workarounds to stakeholders.
