Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated seeks an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. The role emphasizes PLC/PC controllers, SCADA, and MHE systems optimization.

You will mentor apprentices, work with operations and support teams, and ensure safety-focused development with rigorous documentation and change management.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Ability to lead, train and mentor automation engineers.
• Proficiency with CMMS, troubleshooting, and coordinating maintenance with stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Problem solving mindset and continuous improvement focus.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site technical expert in automation control systems and mentor Apprentices.
• Design, develop, implement, and optimize control systems and software; maintain equipment including PLC/PC controllers and networks.
• Follow documentation and change management procedures.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and support to optimize MHE systems and deliver projects.
• Monitor MHE metrics, analyze performance, and lead troubleshooting locally and remotely.
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive cost- and performance-improvement initiatives.
• Communicate issues, timelines and workarounds to leadership and stakeholders.
