Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company seeks a Sr. Automation Engineer to manage plant computer network systems, control, instrumentation and electronics. This position provides technical support to plant personnel and includes after-hours work to support operations.

The role supervises electricians and other wage staff in Automation Engineering and acts as liaison between corporate IT and the plant on site. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical or automation within industrial manufacturing, with

Qualifications

Associate degree in electricity/electronics or related field required.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or process controls preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical or automation in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Proficient in English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Directs and manages computer automation hardware and software used in the plant operation.
Directs and manages PLC systems and networks used in the plant operation.
Collaborates with staff on design, installation, revisions and maintenance of all plant electrical and instrumentation systems.
Maintains the security and integrity of all Local Area network devices, equipment and components such as servers, switches, and computers.
Directs and provides technical support and troubleshooting for plant LAN/WAN and telecommunication systems.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
