Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company in Texas is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer to manage plant computer networks, control and instrumentation, and to provide technical support to operations staff, including after-hours work.

You will supervise electricians and other wage staff, liaise with IT, and oversee PLC systems, LAN/WAN, and plant telecommunication, ensuring security and reliability across the automation backbone.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-year associated degree in electricity/electronics (required).
• 4-year bachelor's in electrical engineering or process controls is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical or automation in industrial manufacturing.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Direct and manage computer automation hardware and software used in the plant operation.
• Direct and manage PLC systems and networks used in the plant operation.
• Collaborate on design, installation, revisions and maintenance of plant electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain security and integrity of LAN devices, equipment and components.
• Direct and provide technical support for plant LAN/WAN and telecommunication systems.
