Job summary

Kinetik is seeking an Sr. Automation Engineer to maintain plant and field control systems, ensuring safe, compliant operation and supervising I&E Technicians and contract personnel. You will manage PLC/HMI logic, OT networking, and SCADA interfaces, and participate in system upgrades.

The role requires expertise in Allen-Bradley PLCs, PanelView/Red Lion HMIs, Wonderware and ClearSCADA, plus strong communication and teamwork across IT, Measurement, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates or higher preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Must have experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Controllers, PanelView and Redlion HMIs.
• Must have experience with OT network equipment (switches, gateways).
• Must have experience with SCADA systems (Wonderware, ClearSCADA).
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus and serial comms.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supervises I&E Technicians and contract personnel for safe operation of plant and pipeline controls.
• Maintains program records, licenses for PLCs, HMIs, and OT networking gear.
• Performs control system programming and commissioning of new facilities.
• Acts as SME on control system standards and implementation.
• Collaborates with IT, Measurement and Engineering on networks and design.
• Provides cost estimates for upgrades and software licensing.
• Responds to emergencies affecting facility control systems.
• Recommends improvements to automation and control systems.
• Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures.
