Job description

If you’re the kind of controls engineer who likes being in the thick of real process automation, tying together PLCs, networks, instrumentation, and SCADA systems that keep plants and terminals running, this one’s worth a look.

This company is a specialist systems integrator working across oil & gas, energy, and industrial process facilities. Their team handles the full scope: control system design, programming, and commissioning, everything from greenfield builds to upgrades and expansions. Projects range from terminals and tank farms to chemical plants and utility systems.

You’d be joining a small, technical group where you can own projects, work directly with clients, and see your code go live in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Programming and integrating PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for process automation projects.
  • Developing control logic, process sequences, and data acquisition strategies.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting industrial networks and communications (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.).
  • Supporting loop checks, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning/startups.
  • Collaborating with process and electrical engineers to deliver complete, robust automation systems.
  • Providing ongoing technical support and system improvements.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and HMI development.
  • Understanding of SCADA architecture and real-time data systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols.
  • Ability to handle projects from concept through commissioning with minimal oversight.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and willingness to travel for on-site work.
Nice to have
  • Background in oil & gas, chemical, or energy environments.
  • Experience with DCS or safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Benefits
  • Diverse, technically challenging projects across major process industries.
  • Engineer-led culture where technical input actually drives decisions.
  • Hands-on, full project ownership from programming through commissioning.
  • Opportunity to build deep process automation expertise in a stable, growing company.
