L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Automation Manufacturing Engineer to advance automated systems for solid rocket motor manufacturing in Orange, VA.

You will develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions, partnering with manufacturing teams to enhance capability, safety, and productivity. The role requires strong engineering expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and project leadership to drive automation projects from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent with required years of experience.
• Experience in automation manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain automation and robotics systems.
• Analyze production processes to identify efficiency improvements.
• Design and implement manufacturing technology to optimize throughput.
• Lead safety, quality, and productivity in operations.
• Develop work standards, time studies, and ergonomic analyses.
• Monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues with QA and Ops.
• Support new product development for manufacturability and scalability.
• Create and maintain process documentation and SOPs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for NPI and equipment validation.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.
• Support security clearance requirements.
