Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support automation throughout the solid rocket motor manufacturing lifecycle at the Huntsville, AL or Camden, AR facility.

You will develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions to improve throughput, safety, and productivity. The role requires collaboration with manufacturing and industrial engineers, project management of automation initiatives, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of Automation/Manufacturing Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years. In lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement manufacturing technology, optimizing throughput and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot and maintain custom automation and robotics systems.
• Analyze production processes and workflows to identify improvements and reduce costs.
• Optimize processes ensuring safety, quality and productivity.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop work standards, time studies and ergonomics.
• Monitor and report process performance to drive CI initiatives.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues with QA and operations teams.
• Provide technical support for new product development, ensuring manufacturability.
• Create and maintain process documentation including flows and SOPs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for new product introduction and equipment validation.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
• Travel: 25%.
