Job summary
Nike Air Manufacturing & Innovation is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operationalization of advanced automation in our future manufacturing facilities. You will transform approved concepts into safe, reliable production solutions and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure successful handoffs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation, robotics, controls, or related engineering.
- Experience delivering automation projects from detailed design through commissioning and handoff.
- Strong knowledge of Rockwell PLCs, HMI development, industrial networking, and controls architectures.
- Experience with robotics platforms (ABB, Denso, Universal Robots).
- Experience with vision systems (Keyence, Cognex).
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, OT connectivity, and data systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, integration, and deployment of automation solutions across material handling, thermoforming, inspection, packaging, and connected systems.
- Drive commissioning, validation, FAT, SAT, go-live, and production acceptance activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project readiness and successful implementation.
- Develop validation plans, execute tests, and document results for production readiness decisions.
- Troubleshoot complex automation, controls, robotics, and system integration issues.
- Support hypercare and transition systems into long-term operations.
- Create deployment playbooks and technical documentation for scalable rollout across the network.
- Provide coaching and knowledge transfer to Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
