Job summary

The Haskell Company is hiring a lead automation engineer to act as the primary technical resource across automation scopes. You will coordinate design activities, develop budgets, and manage vendors and clients throughout design, startup, and commissioning.

With 10+ years of experience, you will guide PLC/HMI development, data collection, and team leadership while maintaining schedules and budgets. Travel up to 30% and a PE licensure are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
• 10+ years of industry experience.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
• Deep knowledge of PLC, HMI and data collection technologies.
• Effective communication, client engagement and people leadership.
• Adaptive to new technologies, including AI.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update control system basis of design and network architectures.
• Develop automation content and budgets for proposals.
• Design low voltage power and control systems for automated processes.
• Prepare scopes of work, BOMs and project documents.
• Develop PLC and HMI programs to client standards.
• Develop data collection and reporting software.
• Coordinate design reviews and vendor meetings; mentor staff.
• Oversee project schedule, staffing and budget within design limits.
• Provide startup support and training to clients.
