Job summary
Atlas Energy Solutions is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design and development of industrial automation applications. You will work with Ignition and Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix, define standards, and mentor the automation team while ensuring high‑quality execution across projects.
You will collaborate with IT, Operations, and Engineering to implement scalable architectures, integrate PLCs, SCADA, and enterprise systems, and ensure compliance with safety and engineering
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, IT, or a related field.
- 4+ years in industrial automation systems.
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix and Studio 5000.
- Experience with Ignition Perspective and/or Vision.
- Proficient with Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, MQTT.
- Experience integrating automation with databases, APIs, and enterprise apps.
- Willingness to travel within Texas locations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions using Ignition and Allen‑Bradley controllers.
- Lead technical implementation from design through commissioning.
- Troubleshoot automation, controls, and SCADA across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Define architectures and integration patterns between PLCs, SCADA, databases, APIs, and business systems.
- Establish standards for PLC programming, Ignition development, and system integration.
- Create reusable templates and development frameworks to speed delivery.
- Review designs and code for quality and maintainability.
- Mentor automation engineers and oversee third‑party vendors.
