Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company is seeking a highly motivated Senior Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives and drive quality improvements across the organization. This hybrid role requires onsite presence in Pittston, PA at least once every other month and demands experience in C# and automation frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical leadership background and be comfortable taking ownership of complex initiatives with minimal supervision, contributing significantly to the organization's quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated automation engineering experience.
• Proven experience operating as a senior‑level automation engineer within large‑scale software organizations.
• Demonstrated success leading automation initiatives that span multiple teams or departments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a champion for automation best practices across multiple engineering teams.
• Contribute to and influence architecture decisions with a focus on long-term sustainability.
• Analyze and troubleshoot API behavior and performance.

Skills

Expert-level experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium WebDriver

Strong experience automating API testing

Strong programming skills in C#, Java, TypeScript

Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

10+ years of software engineering experience (preferred)
