Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies seeks an Automation Test Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing solutions. This role requires deep automation framework knowledge and the ability to lead testing efforts for complex features within P&C insurance systems.

You will design scalable test frameworks, perform API/UI/backend testing, and mentor junior QA engineers while integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in software testing, preferably in the P&C insurance domain
• 3–5 years of experience in test automation.
• Proficiency in automation tools including Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Proficiency in SQL for backend/database testing.
• Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Strong understanding of Agile QA methodologies, test planning, and defect management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and maintainable automated test frameworks using Tosca and other tools.
• Analyze requirements related to P&C insurance systems and translate them into automated test strategies and plans.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, accessibility testing across web and backend systems.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and product owners to ensure test coverage and quality.
• Execute automated test cases, log defects, and track them to closure using Azure DevOps.
• Develop automated tests for APIs, UI, and backend systems.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and review their test scripts.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain test documentation and knowledge sharing across QA teams.
