Job summary

Penn Life Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to design, implement, and improve automation and control systems across GMP manufacturing and facility operations.

You will lead PLC, HMI, SCADA, and machine vision initiatives, troubleshoot complex issues, and support validation, change control, and data integrity requirements. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Engineering, and external vendors to ensure compliant, reliable operations and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years in automation/controls in regulated manufacturing (pharma/biotech/medical device preferred).
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA across full lifecycle (design, implementation, commissioning, startup, support).
• Hands-on experience with machine vision in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience with cGMP environments and validated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize automation and control solutions for manufacturing and facility equipment (PLC, HMI, SCADA, instrumentation).
• Troubleshoot automation issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Develop and maintain PLC logic, HMI configurations, SCADA interfaces and related software.
• Support machine vision inspection systems and optimize performance.
• Lead or support automation activities for new equipment, upgrades, and capital projects.
