Job summary

United Pharma seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to support GMP pharma/biotech automation, covering PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems. You will design, program, troubleshoot, and validate control systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include commissioning, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, CSV, and system upgrades, with collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Validation teams. Strong documentation and GMP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Instrumentation, or related Engineering field.
• 3+ years of Automation/Controls Engineering experience in Pharma, Biotech, Life Sciences, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, or DCS systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson DeltaV, Ignition, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, VFDs, control panels, and communication networks.
• Experience with GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and CSV.
• Experience supporting commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems.
• Support automation equipment integration, commissioning, startup, and qualification.
• Develop and review control logic, functional specifications, and automation documentation.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, alarms, VFDs, and control systems.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ, and CSV activities.
• Perform automation changes, testing, and system upgrades in GMP environments.
• Support investigations, root cause analysis, deviations, and change controls.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Facilities teams.
• Ensure automation systems comply with GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation, system records, and standard operating procedures.
