Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer – Ansible to advance automation across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations. You will design, implement, and maintain end-to-end automation using Ansible, Python, and API-driven workflows in a secure, enterprise environment.

You will collaborate within Agile teams, ensure compliance with security standards, and contribute to runbooks and knowledge materials. US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in end-to-end software development lifecycle and automation
• Advanced Ansible expertise: playbooks, roles, modules, workflows
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation
• API development using FastAPI/Flask and integration patterns
• IaC with version control, CI/CD and automated testing
• Multi-platform knowledge: Linux/Unix, Windows, cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Experience in Agile/Scaled Agile environments
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Knowledge of secure coding and banking environments

Responsibilities

• Automate high-priority tasks across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations
• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, modules & workflows
• Lead end-to-end automation lifecycle from requirements to deployment
• Create Python/Bash/PowerShell scripts for complex business requirements
• Develop RESTful APIs with FastAPI/Flask to orchestrate workflows
• Build IaC solutions with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Collaborate in Agile and SAFe with cross-functional teams
• Ensure secure coding practices and banking regulatory compliance
• Document solutions, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
• Provide on-call support and troubleshoot production issues
