Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer – Ansible to accelerate automation across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations for critical federal initiatives. You will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation using Ansible, Python, and modern API frameworks, delivering secure, scalable solutions in a complex enterprise environment.

The role requires deep experience in SDLC automation, IaC, CI/CD, and cross-functional collaboration within Agile teams.

Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years with BS/BA; 6+ years with MS/MA; 3+ years with PhD.
End-to-end enterprise software development life cycle with automation.
Advanced Ansible experience developing playbooks, roles, modules, workflows.
Proficient in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
Experience building RESTful APIs (FastAPI, Flask) and IaC with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Automate high-priority tasks and end-to-end workflows across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations.
Design, develop, and maintain automation using Ansible for secure enterprise environments.
Develop RESTful APIs to orchestrate automation workflows.
Build IaC with CI/CD and automated testing.
Collaborate in Agile/SAFe with cross-functional teams.
Ensure secure coding practices and regulatory compliance.
