Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Senior Automation Engineer - Ansible to advance automation across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations for a critical Federal Reserve–related initiative.

You will design and implement end-to-end automation using Ansible, Python, and RESTful APIs, while applying secure coding practices and working in an Agile/Scaled Agile environment. US citizenship and Public Trust readiness are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years with BS/BA; 6+ years with MS/MA; 3+ years with PhD.
• Experience in end-to-end software development lifecycle and automation.
• Advanced Ansible: playbooks, roles, modules, workflows for enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience building RESTful APIs (FastAPI, Flask) to orchestrate workflows.
• IaC, version control, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Linux/Unix, Windows, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Automate high-priority tasks and end-to-end workflows across Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations.
• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, modules, and workflows for secure environments.
• Lead full SDLC for automation projects from requirements to deployment and support.
• Create advanced automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integration patterns to connect enterprise systems.
• Build and optimize IaC with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.
• Collaborate in Agile and SAFe with cross-functional teams across security and service groups.
• Ensure secure coding and banking-regulation alignment where applicable.
