Job summary

Mestek Machinery, a leader in metal forming solutions, seeks a senior electro/automation engineer to design, implement, and maintain automation control systems for HVAC duct fabrication equipment. You will develop PLC logic, MMI interfaces, and control system architecture across multiple projects.

The role requires strong CAD/ECAD skills and experience with major PLC platforms, plus the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSME required, 5–7 years in industrial automation.
• Knowledge of UL/CSA/CE electrical codes.
• Proficient with major PLC brands (AB, Siemens, B&R).
• Experience with electromechanical relations of automation systems.
• Motivation to contribute to engineering procedure improvements.
• Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe operation, design, and debugging of process and automation control systems; source and recommend vendors.
• Write and debug PLC code and device drivers; program MMI devices and interface circuitry.
• Establish design change control and documentation standards with Engineering Manager.
• Create quality testing procedures and tools; perform design verification.
• Identify performance issues and perform root cause analysis; suggest solutions.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team (mechanical, electrical, software, controls).
• Lead or assist with equipment and material test studies.
• Willing to take ownership for projects.
