Job summary

Addtronics Custom Automation (ACA) in Missouri is seeking a seasoned Controls/Automation Engineer to design control systems for automation machines, ensuring alignment with project requirements, ACA standards, and customer expectations. You will interpret cost sheets, develop control architectures, verify electrical design packages, and produce designs that comply with safety and standards.

You will review new control-related products, report status, achieve milestones, and support project cost

Qualifications

• BS Degree in engineering or equivalent experience (preferred).
• Electrical troubleshooting of industrial control panels and machines (required).
• 5+ years as a Controls/Automation Engineer or equivalent (industrial automation preferred).
• 5+ years programming PLCs and HMIs using ladder logic (Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Motion control of servos, stepper motors, and induction motors using VFDs and servo drives (Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Electrical control system design using CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
• Industrial robotics experience with multi-axis robots (Fanuc and Epson preferred).
• Ability to work with a team of technical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Document project requirements and communicate to the project team.
• Develop a controls architecture based on ACA standards and customer specs.
• Verify electrical design packages before shop release for safety and accuracy.
• Create and implement designs meeting functionality and safety standards.
• Interpret internal cost sheets and develop plans to meet cost estimates.
• Report project status regularly and ensure milestones are met.
• Document cost of scope changes and review new control products.
• Recommend training to improve efficiency and engineering knowledge.
• Follow ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions.
