Job summary

Worley Consulting is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to drive execution of large-scale automation projects in the Americas. The role focuses on PLC/DCS configuration, control system integration, and cross‑functional leadership across multiple vendor platforms.

Based in Houston with hybrid work options, travel up to 25–50% may be required. We value safety, innovation, and delivering value across mining, LNG, petrochemical, oil & gas, and related sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; P.E. license a plus.
• 10–12+ years’ experience leading control systems projects and managing teams.
• Experience programming and configuring PLC and DCS platforms, with hands-on project leadership.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present reports to all levels.
• Experience in mining, LNG, petrochemical, oil and gas, or nuclear industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Worley offices to share work on blended execution teams.
• Coordinate interfaces with engineering partners, contractors, equipment manufacturers, system integrators and other disciplines.
• Assist, and later lead, preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets.
• Lead projects from concept through detailed design, commissioning and handover to operations.
• Program and configure PLC/DCS platforms and lead project teams.
• Produce control narratives, diagrams, specifications, and procurement documents.
• Engineer and commission complex automation projects, including FAT/SAT and installation qualification.
