Job summary
Worley Consulting seeks an experienced automation engineer to drive execution of complex automation projects within the Autonomous and Automation Americas team. You will lead control systems initiatives across mining, LNG, petrochemical, oil and gas sectors, coordinating with partners and field teams in North America.
Based in Houston, Calgary, or Edmonton, this full‑time hybrid role requires 10–12+ years of leadership in PLC/DCS projects, hands‑on programming, and strong communication to
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Systems, Chemical).
- P.E. license is a plus.
- 10–12+ years leading control systems projects and managing a team.
- Programming and configuring PLC and DCS platforms (Rockwell, Honeywell, Triconex).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- EPC experience is an asset.
- Experience in mining, LNG, petrochemical, oil and gas, or nuclear industries.
Responsibilities
- Drive execution of automation engineering projects within the Autonomous and Automation Americas team.
- Coordinate interfaces with engineering partners, construction contractors, equipment manufacturers, system integrators and other disciplines.
- Lead preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets.
- Perform field work including FAT/SAT, installation qualification, commissioning and handover to operations.
- Program and configure PLC and DCS platforms, leading project teams.
