Procter & Gamble’s Iowa City Oral Care Site is seeking a skilled Controls & Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for startup and qualification of a new manufacturing operation. You will drive improvements in line performance, product quality, and safety through robust automation solutions.

You will apply expertise in PLC-based control, HMI/SCADA, process control, safety practices, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable, safe, and compliant systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Automation preferred).
• 5+ years of industrial controls and automation experience.
• Experience with PLCs (ControlLogix preferred) and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of process control (continuous and/or batch).
• Familiarity with instrumentation, drives, motion control, and vision systems.
• Experience with industrial networks and system architecture.
• Server infrastructure and virtualization knowledge.
• Electrical design standards and applicable codes.
• Machine safety and electrical safety practices.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with change management and startup support.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication.

• Develop and implement control strategies for safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
• Design and program automation systems using PLCs to improve productivity.
• Integrate equipment and control systems across lines and data interfaces.
• Apply data analytics and digital tools to improve process capability.
• Analyze system performance and implement sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and projects teams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and train plant personnel.
• Ensure compliance with electrical and machine safety standards.
