Job summary

Saint-Gobain, through its CertainTeed subsidiary, is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and control systems across the Ennis facility in Texas. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Electrical preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in Controls & Automation in continuous process manufacturing.
• Experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix).
• HMI development experience (Ignition or Wonderware).
• Familiar with NEC/NFPA standards and electrical safety.
• Familiar with industrial networking (TCP/IP, Modbus).

Responsibilities

• Develop and commission plant automation systems (PLCs, HMI/SCADA, MES data collection).
• Direct contractors, engineering partners, and suppliers.
• Prepare, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and provide status for projects.
• Perform all aspects of project management and design engineering for projects.
• Develop scopes of work and estimates for potential projects.
• Maintain compliance and quality control across budgets, scheduling, and planning.
• Collaborate with Production & Engineering Managers to coordinate process changes.
• Develop/enforce Process Controls Standards and control system architectures.
• Support process engineers in optimization tasks and corrective actions.
• Lead Focus Improvement teams to resolve critical process issues with customers/vendors.
• Lead technicians through troubleshooting and root-cause analyses.
• Review production data to identify efficiency opportunities and implement improvements.
• Maintain electrical equipment to meet codes at state and federal levels.
• Be available for after-hours support during downtime.
• Report EH&S incidents and conduct audits as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
