Our client, a leading aerospace and defense technology organization in Phoenix, seeks a Sr Advanced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and test PLC-based controls for advanced automation and test systems. You will lead efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust electrical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of PLC programming across multiple hardware platforms (Emerson, Allen-Bradley, Phoenix Contact preferred).
• 6+ years of LabVIEW experience (required), VeriStand, Python, and .NET.
• Proven ability to architect and develop control system software using object-oriented programming and function blocks.
• US Citizenship required; experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical control systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and test PLC programs for new and existing equipment using industry best practices.
• Define controls system requirements and create detailed functional specifications.
• Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot LabVIEW-based systems to meet evolving customer needs.
• Lead implementation, integration, and testing of automation systems, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers.
