Job summary

Delkor Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer III to lead automation of machinery lines and develop the software and controls architecture for new equipment.

You will work closely with sales, project management, and field teams to deliver robust automation solutions. Expect to design control systems, specify hardware like Rockwell PLCs, servo drives, HMIs, and CAD models, while mentoring peers and ensuring safety standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 8 years related PLC/HMI/servo experience.
• Minimum 6 years experience with servo-driven high-speed machinery.
• Minimum 4 years experience with RSLogix5000.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation PLCs and HMIs preferred.
• Experience with 3D CAD and Emulation software preferred.
• Experience with Product Data Management systems preferred.
• Experience with packaging, cam-driven machinery, and Fanuc robotics preferred.
• Experience managing development projects and working with end customers.

Responsibilities

• Estimate time and material costs for new product machinery quotes.
• Develop prototype automation specifications, configurations, options list and cost targets; publish specs for milestone reviews.
• Direct concept automation development on test components and test rigs.
• Report time-plan deviations, project risks, cost overruns to Controls Engineering Supervisor.
• Create/Improve code base to improve efficiency or add features.
• Stay up to date on new hardware releases and assess improvements.
• Engineer new equipment lines and the overall automation controls platform.
• Develop software for new machines while maintaining standards.
• Lead field testing and validation; transfer documentation to engineering teams.
• Provide project management and leadership from order entry through field test completion.
