Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to own the design and commissioning of industrial machinery for R&D, test, and production within a fast-paced, agile team.

You will lead equipment design from concept through commissioning, develop schematics in EPlan, and program PLCs in TwinCAT, ensuring robust, scalable control systems and effective diagnostics for end users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/test/R&D and PLC programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and industrial control hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of equipment design from concept, requirements, and commissioning.
• Generate schematics for electrical and fluid systems in EPlan to required standards.
• Write and debug PLC software in TwinCAT for maintainable, scalable controls.
• Program industrial controls hardware (VFDs, motor starters, PLCs).
• Develop HMIs for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with end users to ensure equipment meets design intent.
