Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in the United States is seeking an Automation Engineer - Advanced Manufacturing to drive robotics and automation across our global supply chain. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design, simulate, deploy, and optimize automation solutions that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost performance.

The role combines hands-on engineering with project execution, supporting multiple manufacturing sites and business units, and requiring travel as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Automation/Controls, or Robotics.
• 3+ years of industrial automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience with industrial robots and automation equipment in production.
• Ability to design automation concepts, cell layouts, and equipment interfaces.
• Experience with robot simulation, offline programming, or digital manufacturing tools.

Responsibilities

• Support automation projects from concept through production launch.
• Evaluate processes and identify practical automation opportunities.
• Develop automation concepts, layouts, simulations, and specs.
• Run robot reach, payload, interference, and cycle-time simulations.
• Assist with capital estimates, ROI, equipment scopes, and documentation.
• Collaborate with control, manufacturing, quality, maintenance, EHS, suppliers, and integrators.
