Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices. We seek a Principal Automation and AI Operations Engineer to define, validate, and document NAS/NCC SKUs within the Gateway while integrating with OSS and eNB/gNB systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in network automation, DevOps/SRE, or operations engineering in telecom, networking, or satellite ground-segment environments.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Go, or similar languages; infrastructure as code; event-driven systems; workflow automation; data engineering; ML; AIOps; autonomous remediation; digital twins.

Responsibilities

• Define, lifecycle-manage, and document NAS and NCC SKUs within the Gateway.
• Design and build automated test frameworks and scripts for Gateway subsystems.
• Drive pre- and post-deployment validation against golden configuration and baselines.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware, and software teams to align test plans and pass/fail criteria.
• Automate repetitive operating tasks and build remediation workflows.
