Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking an Automation Developer to design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, dashboards, data pipelines, and test tools for satellite, gateway, and LTE analytics. Strong Python skills and experience with AI-driven automation are required to improve system robustness and operational readiness.

The role collaborates with R&D and Operations, building end-to-end test suites and agent-based tooling while delivering clear visual analyses and comprehensive documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, CS or related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on automation development experience.
• Experience in telecommunications, satellite, or network systems.
• Proficient in Python and automation scripting.
• Experience with REST APIs, data parsing, structured logs, and report generation.
• Version control with Git; CI tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test frameworks, scripts, APIs, dashboards, and tools in Python.
• Develop end-to-end and HIL test suites for satellite, gateway, RF, payload, embedded, and comms workflows.
• Build automation with GUI, cloud-triggered jobs, instrument drivers, result storage, and reports.
• Automate RF/system validation procedures with lab equipment.
• Create analytics and monitoring workflows for gateway/satellite platforms.
• Develop AI-agent tooling and MCP-based agent-callable tools.
