Job summary

At Bose Corporation, a Portfolio Software Architect – Auto Tech will define future software architecture for the Automotive Technology portfolio. You will lead architecture decisions, partner with AI/ML teams, and guide scalable, reusable software across vehicle platforms and generations.

The role requires deep expertise in embedded and distributed systems, experience with Android Automotive and automotive SoCs, and strong technical leadership to influence across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with architecting and delivering complex embedded or software platforms at scale.
• Experience defining architectures spanning multiple products, customers, hardware targets, or product generations.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, modularity, APIs/interfaces, configurability, portability, reuse, maintainability.
• Strong depth in embedded and distributed systems; automotive software ecosystems experience.
• Knowledge of Android Automotive, hypervisors, SoCs, DSPs, middleware, hardware abstraction.
• Ability to make consequential technical decisions under ambiguity and lead complex initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the software architecture and technical strategy for the future Auto Tech portfolio.
• Architect scalable, modular, configurable software platforms across compute and vehicle environments.
• Establish foundations, abstractions, and interfaces for portable, reusable software solutions.
• Collaborate with audio, acoustics, signal processing, and ML/AI teams to enable AI/ML in tuning and personalization.
• Anticipate changes in software-defined vehicles and translate into Bose platform direction.
• Engage with OEMs/partners to ensure Bose solutions integrate into future vehicle platforms.
• Lead cross-functional architecture decisions, resolve complex challenges, mentor senior engineers.
